Líderes Avanzando Fellowship Program

DEADLINE:  6:00 PM PST on June 26, 2019

UnidosUS, previously known as NCLR (National Council of La Raza), is the nation’s largest Latino civil rights and advocacy organization. Through its unique combination of expert research, advocacy, programs, and an Affiliate Network of nearly 300 community-based organizations across the United States and Puerto Rico, UnidosUS simultaneously challenges the social, economic, and political barriers that affect Latinos at the national and local levels. To achieve its mission, UnidosUS conducts applied research, policy analysis, and advocacy, providing a Latino perspective in five key areas—assets/investments, civil rights/immigration, education, employment and economic status, and health. In addition, it provides capacity-building assistance to its Affiliates who work at the state and local level to advance opportunities for individuals and families.

The Líderes Avanzando Fellowship
The Líderes Avanzando Fellowship program is geared to second and third-year college students who are passionate about making meaningful change in their campus community and beyond. This Fellowship will develop a cohort of civically, socially and educationally engaged college students to act as levers of change in their respective campuses and communities. The Fellowship will provide guidance, support, content knowledge, and strategic skills for responsible advocacy and activism around social, programmatic and policy issues. The program will provide an avenue through which Fellows can elevate student voices to the forefront of conversation, moving thought into action and empowering Latino youth.
