Tech2Empower USA Fellowship Advisor Application 2019

Tech2Empower USA: Impact Fellowship
Amplifying the Political Voice and Power of Women
Advisor Application

In March 2019, WAKE brought together women's rights and social justice leaders from nonprofit organizations across the United States for Tech2Empower: Impact Challenge for Women's Rights and Social Justice, three days of tech and communications training, hands-on project work and community-building in San Francisco.

As follow-up, WAKE's Tech2Empower Impact Fellowship is matching two of these nonprofit organizations with teams of volunteer Advisors to visit their communities to learn from local leaders and change-makers, and to contribute to projects and community events.

In the fall of 2019, teams of Advisors will travel to Washington, DC and New Orleans, Louisiana to learn and contribute to amplifying women's voices, leadership and influence in politics. We will learn from and engage with local leaders, young women and community groups, and our nonprofit host organizations: Running Start in DC and Citizen SHE in New Orleans.

During our visits to host communities, Advisors deepen their understanding of the opportunities and challenges, and from the local leaders. Advisors will collaborate with and contribute directly to the work of these organizations. Tech2Empower Advisors make significant contributions, all while making meaningful connections, learning and experiencing new things and having fun.

This year’s two Tech2Empower Fellowship host organizations both aim to amplify the voices of women as 1) influencers of policy change to empower communities and 2) by preparing young women to run for elected office.
