Important information
If you think you may have been exposed to HIV in the past 72 hours, go immediately to a clinic or emergency department and ask for PEP— “Post-exposure Prophylaxis.” If started right away, emergency PEP can stop HIV.

If you are HIV negative and regularly have sex without condoms, ask your doctor about PrEP—“Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis”—a daily pill that helps you stay HIV-negative.
