Systems Developer

Description

Reports to: Director of Information Systems                        

Location: 69 W. Washington

Classification: Grade 18/Full-time/Non-Union                            

Division: MIS Department

Primary Function:  End-user desktop support including OS and application troubleshooting, basic network analysis, web-based application troubleshooting, and problem resolution, security best practices, and service ticket management.  Executing basic security practices including malware identification and infection resolution. Implementation and support of various MIS-directed projects.  Equipment location movement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with MIS team to support ongoing daily office operations
  • Work with Desktop Engineering team to coordinate service delivery
  • Troubleshoot and solve individual and wide-spread desktop operational issues
  • Support non-computer equipment including scanners, printers, and disk publication systems
  • Maintain general industry awareness of operating systems, common applications, and current threats
  • Recommend platform solutions including hardware/software upgrades and replacements to senior MIS staff
  • Work with MIS team to develop and deliver effective documentation regarding all implemented solutions
  • Travel to the State’s Attorney’s offices various work sites when necessary
  • Participate in the execution of complex project implementation plans
  • Oversee the integration of all new database solutions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Interaction:

  • Interacts with Director and Deputy Director of MIS on a daily basis
  • Interacts with MIS Team on a daily basis
  • Interacts with State’s Attorney’s Office employees on a daily basis
  • Interacts with external agencies on a daily basis
  • Regular access to confidential information

Qualifications: The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with having the ability to multi-task and work in a complex and highly-regulated environment. A minimum of 3years’ experience in desktop and user support in Microsoft OS and application environments preferred. Must be highly motivated and self-directed with excellent problem solving skills.
