HIPS Academy Application

Thank you for your interest in the Academy for Writing: High Impact Practices (HIPS). Please use the portal below to upload your application materials as outlined in the call for team participants. All applications must be received by midnight on February 2, 2020.
1. Please provide the contact information for the person submitting this application on behalf of your team. *This question is required.
2. Upload a Word or PDF document (500 word limit) providing a rationale for participating in the HIPS Academy that outlines the work already in progress, the HIP to be implemented or improved, and changes in the department or professional field that makes revising the curriculum to include this HIP appropriate and timely. *This question is required.
3. Upload a Word or PDF document that provides the names of faculty on the team with a short explanation (250-word limit for each) of how these faculty are 1) qualified to contribute to the development of the plan, 2) instrumental to implementing writing and HIPS into their department's undergraduate curriculum, and 3) the right people to constitute the team from this department at this moment. *This question is required.
5. Upload a letter of support from your department head/chair that:
a) provides a statement explaining why the department is ready to make curricular revisions that focus on integrating writing and HIPS;
b) endorses the specific faculty identified on the team as both qualified and able to participate in the entire Academy; and
c) explains how the faculty members' work in revising curriculum will be recognized in the annual review process. *This question is required.
