The NCAA Division II Wrestling Hall of Fame Award is the highest honor presented by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association. Nominees must be persons of outstanding quality, high moral character, fine leadership ability and must be held in high esteem by their colleagues, former coaches and former athletes.

Criteria for Nomination

Coaches Category
  1. The nominee must have coached a minimum of 15 years in the sport of wrestling.
  2. The majority of his coaching experience must have been at an NCAA Division II (or NCAA College Division) institution.
  3. The nominee must have attained national recognition in the sport of wrestling.
  4. The nominee must have made concrete contributions to the sport of wrestling and to the NCAA Division II.

Athletes Category
  1. The nominee must have graduated from an accredited, four-year degree-granting institution (may be waived in the case of extenuating circumstances).
  2. At least two years of the nominee’s intercollegiate wrestling competition must have been at an NCAA Division II (or NCAA College Division) institution.
  3. The nominee is eligible for nomination ten years after he has completed his collegiate eligibility.
  4. The nominee must have attained national recognition in the sport of wrestling.

Meritorious Service
  1. The nominee must have proven himself/herself over a period of years.
  2. The nominee must have been of service to NCAA Division II wrestling.

Support Material Required with each Nomination
The following support material must be submitted with each nomination for the nomination to be considered. It will be the responsibility of the person making the nomination to collect all the necessary materials and submit everything together as a complete packet. Nomination forms without the supporting materials will not be considered. Meritorious service nominees may not require all the letters of recommendation indicated below, but there should be as many letters as appropriate to support the nomination.
