Older Adult Physical Activity Training Survey

Survey Introduction

The following survey is being used to for a grant proposal for HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Aging and physical activity training for older adults. The training sessions would be subsidized through grant funding and cost approximately $20 per session.

In partnership, the Be Fit for Life Network recently created this Be Active-Warming Up for your Daily Life poster for practitioners who work with older adults as well as a fall prevention resource.

5. HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Aging Training is a 1 day workshop that provides insights into the unique needs of older adults when participating in recreation or leisure activities in municipal or retirement communities. It provides evidence-based approaches to improve the experience of participants by implementing the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Aging. Topics include ageism, program planning, and the importance that physical literacy plays in sustained long-term health, increased social connectedness, improved general mental and physical well-being and a better quality of life. The workshop is worth 7 continuing education credits for fitness instructors certified through Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association.
