The purpose of the moderation process is to work with schools and teachers to develop a comprehensive and shared understanding of the Year 6 and Year 7 achievement standards in the learning area. The Authority will develop the moderation task and marking key to be used in the moderation process.
A workshop to unpack the teaching and task requirements will be conducted in Term 1. Teachers will need to register to attend the learning area workshop once these are advertised in the first circular in 2020 and on the Authority's Events page. Teachers will implement the Authority's task during Term 2 or early Term 3 and collect student work samples for the moderation meeting/s to be held in mid Term 3 2020. Full details will be provided to teachers upon registration.
