Directions

The 2020 Gold Medal Award application is in an online format. Entries will have two components. Applicants must complete each component.  State Park Applicants (odd numbered years) are required to use this application as well.

Questions 3 - 11 -- Responses to the essay questions will be captured online. You will also be asked to provide links to your website and requested documents. Answer all questions within the word limit.

Questions 13 – 25 -- Statistical data will be captured using this online form. The statistical questions are similar to questions in NRPA's Park Metrics (formerly PRORAGIS) benchmarking database. As a courtesy, we will enter the data you provide into Park Metrics.

Supplemental Material:   Please include links to your Master/Strategic/Comprehensive Plan as requested in the Agency Information. Please make sure all links work before submitting. Update your home web page to include photos that showcase your programs and support your application.

Visit www.nrpa.org/goldmedal for information you may find helpful in completing the application.

Video Requirement: Gold Medal Finalists (only) are being asked to post to their web page a short (social media type) video, a MAX of 5 minutes by June 1. Judges will view this short video that helps support information provided in the application. The video should tell the story how your agency is outstanding in its management of its resources and programs as well as how it is addressing social equity, conservation, and health and wellness, while capturing images that support application responses; and serves as a media communication piece to your community! Any video approach may be used but will only be considered in round 2 judging discussions if 5 minutes or less and posted by June 1. The video component only applies to Gold Medal Finalists.

Confirmation:  If your application is successfully submitted, you will receive a confirmation email.  If you do not receive a confirmation receipt within 24 hours after submitting application, contact the NRPA office at goldmedal@nrpa.org.

Failure to follow these instructions will result in disqualification.
