Deadline Extended: May 1, 2020

Official Call for Programs Page | Employer Relations Summit
SoACE Professional Development Committee is hosting the annual Employer Relations Summit June 24 - 25. This entire event will focus on employer relations!

The Program Committee is looking for current critical topics relevant to Employer Relations. Our mission is to craft a program that addresses topics pertinent to the needs of career services professionals and employer campus recruiters specializing in employer relations and university recruiting, respectively.

What you need to submit:

  • Presenter CVs and Bios
  • Session Title
  • Session Proposal Summary (200 word max)
  • Learning Objective (at least 1)
Sessions for the summit can be in one of two formats:
  • Breakout sessions: These 1 hour sessions should offer an in-depth exploration of the chosen topic and allow time for participants to actively participate through group work, development of plans, or other relevant tangible takeaways. Breakout sessions will take place Thursday, June 25, 2020.
  • Networking roundtables: These roundtable sessions let participants dip quickly into topics in an open environment for idea sharing, benchmarking and guided discussion. Roundtable hosts/moderators should be prepared to facilitate discussion and have talking points already established, but not make a formal presentation. Hosts should also be prepared to collect contact information and compile notes to send out to attendees after the conference. Roundtable sessions will take place Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
Topics for any of these formats should address one or more of the needs of Employer Relations professionals. Preference will be given to programs in the areas of best practices, utilizing technology and data analytics in employer relations, and student, faculty, parent and alumni partnerships. Additionally, joint presentations are encouraged between employers and career service professionals or representatives from multiple schools.
  • Best Practices: Highlighting strategic employer development and unique programming in employer relations and talent development.
  • Utilizing technology and data analytics: How do you use technology and data to tell your story to campus, faculty, and employer partners? Include strategy, software/technology used and impact on employer relations goals.
  • Student, faculty, and alumni partnerships: How do you engage students, faculty, and alumni in employer relations?  Peer advisor and ambassador programs, alumni networking events, faculty advisory boards, corporate sponsorships and student focus groups.
Additional topics to be considered may include:
On Campus/Career event strategies, experiential learning programs, and employer development/engagement strategies.

We very much look forward to receiving your breakout and/or roundtable proposals, and we thank you in advance for having the interest and taking the time to submit your program!

If you have questions or any problems accessing the form, please be in touch with the SoACE Office, or the Summit Chair, Kim Satz.
