2019 Volunteers Count Survey

We invite you to be a part of the City of New York’s largest civic engagement scan!
Please help NYC Service collect the most complete NYC volunteer data for 2019 by responding to our brief survey. The survey should take no longer than 5-10 minutes.
Your responses will be used for the 2019 NYC Volunteers Count Report. We also highly encourage you to nominate your volunteers to receive Mayoral Service Recognition Certificates* and submit supplemental volunteer stories that may be included in the report and in our agency’s media/public outreach to showcase and encourage volunteering across NYC.

*Please note: The submission deadline for nominating volunteers for the Mayoral Service Recognition Certificates has passed.

Benefits to submitting:
  • Receive supports/ notifications from NYC Service to build and strengthen your volunteer programming.
  • Be a part of a city-wide data set that can be leveraged for grant proposals and local advocacy. 
To complete the required questions, please have the following information on hand: 
  • The total number of non-duplicated volunteers* your organization engaged between January 1- December 31, 2019. 
  • If known, 
    • The total number of youth volunteers (age 17 or younger)
    • The total number of adult volunteers (age 18-59)
    • The total number of older adult volunteers (age 60 or older)
* We define a volunteer as a person who donates their time or efforts for a cause or organization without being paid, which includes unpaid Board Members. Please do not include AmeriCorps Members in your count of volunteers served. Additionally non-duplicated refers to counting recurring volunteers only once.
