1. DEADLINE for scholarship applications is Friday, February 28, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.

2. Refer to application process below for a list of the supporting documents needed. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

3. If any question does not apply to you in this application, please put N/A in the space.

4. Type or print legibly. Illegible applications may be returned to you.

5. You will be notified by phone or mail in May regarding the status of your application. Please do not call the church office to request status.

6. Please check that you are completing the 2020 Application. Because changes have been made, older versions will not be accepted.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE is based on academic performance, leadership potential, service, and demonstrated financial need. Louise Ann Luckey Scholarships are awarded annually without regard to religion, race, color, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.

CRITERIA
  • Applicants shall be 2020 graduating seniors living and attending school in Franklin County.
  • Applicants shall have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. (Applicants with a GPA of 3.0 or higher with outstanding qualifications in remaining areas will receive consideration.) An official transcript must accompany application materials.
  • Applicants shall demonstrate financial need by submitting a family score from the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA Student Aid) Report.
  • Applicants shall submit two letters of recommendation from (counselor, teacher, administrator, or clergy) non-family members.
  • Applicants shall demonstrate public service or community involvement.
  • Applicants shall submit SAT or ACT scores to support and strengthen (not to penalize or eliminate) their application.
  • Applicants shall submit a written essay following the instructions provided as part of the application process.
  • A college/university acceptance letter must be submitted before scholarship funds are distributed.
Applicants who are selected for interviews will be notified by the selection committed by April 2020. Award notification will be given by mid-May 2020. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the Bethany Worship Service and the Award Luncheon on May 24, 2020. Scholarship checks will NOT be sent to recipients via USPS.


STATEMENT OF ACCURACY

I hereby affirm that all the information provided by me to the Louise Ann Luckey Scholarship Committee is true, correct and without forgery. I also consent that my picture may be taken and used for any purpose deemed appropriate to promote the Luckey Scholarship Program.

I hereby understand that if chosen as a scholarship recipient, according to the Luckey Scholarship policy, I must provide evidence of acceptance/matriculation at the post-secondary institution of my choice before scholarship funds can be awarded.
