BSW Scholars 2020 Application

Thank you for your interest in Children’s Corps BSW Scholars Program and child welfare work! 

Please read the instructions below to help you in completing the application: 

1. This application is lengthy. Take your time and proofread each answer before submitting your application.

2. You can save your application and continue working on it at a later time. To do so, click on the prompt at the top of any page and follow the directions.

Application Deadline:
February 23rd, 2020, 11:59 pm EST

  • Fulfill all requirements necessary to graduate by Spring 2021.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 overall. 
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in social work courses.
  • U.S. citizenship, permanent residency status, or other valid U.S. work authorization.

Application Tips:
  • Read through the BSW Scholars page on the Children's Corps website.  
  • Read the other pages on the Children's Corps website (this will provide more information about the program and post-graduate job.
  • Be genuine and thoughtful in your responses.  We don’t just want to know your credentials or prior experience, we also want to get a sense of who you are.
  • PROOFREAD! Or have someone else read over your application.
*Please note that upon entering Children's Corps, and as an agreement of being a part of the Corps, your application will be shared with a Children's Corps partner agency who will become your direct employer.  

Interview:  You will hear from the BSW Scholars-Children's Corps program by March 3rd if you will be invited to an interview.  The interview dates for candidates: Saturday, March 21st or Saturday, March 28th.

Required Documents for Interview: You will be required to submit the following documents, ONLY IF YOU ARE SELECTED FOR AN INTERVIEW.
  • 2 letters of recommendation (at least one must be professional, others may be academic)
  • Unofficial Transcript
*It is important to make sure you have people you can call upon to write a recommendation with a quick turnaround. Should you get an interview, you will have to have these documents submitted timely (prior to your interview). 

*You will be asked to submit a third recommendation before you graduate next year.  Children's Corps staff will follow up about this at a later date. 

*Please note that upon entering Children's Corps, your application will be shared with a ACS & a Children's Corps partner agency who will become your direct employer.
