COVID-19 Response Funding

We are pleased to share that Threshold Foundation's Circle Discretionary Fund has committed $300,000 for response funds to support people and communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Threshold's Call to Action is asking the Donut Community to, at a minimum, match this giving. We believe as we go deep into our hearts we can reach $1,000,000!

Once you have attuned, please include your grant amounts below. We are asking for donations to be in by May 20th, so we can distribute grants by the end of May.

Circle has done initial due diligence and explored many of the COVID-19 Response Funds that have been pulled together over the last few weeks. We have narrowed these down to 5 funds that strongly represent Threshold values and philosophies, and are providing essential support to grassroots organizations.
 

Why these groups and what are they prioritizing?

* Reaching the most marginalized communities
* Aligning with Threshold's values & funding priorities

7th Generation Fund: Flicker Fund   (Indigenous Communities) 
Providing direct grant support to stressed Indigenous communities on the front-lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, where some are already facing issues of hunger, lack of access to water, and unable to secure basic hygiene and material supplies needed for everyday life.
Emergent Fund: The People's Bailout   (Grassroots Organizing)
Providing swift support to grassroots organizations that serve Indigenous, black, and people of color communities impacted by COVID-19. Threshold was a founding partner of the Emergent Fund.
National Day Laborers Organizing Network: Worker Safety Net Fund   (Farmworkers/Day Laborers/Undocumented People) 
Providing immediate resources and financial support so workers excluded from our social safety nets (undocumented workers, especially farmworkers and other day laborers) can take care of themselves and their families at home.
One Fair Wage: Emergency Fund for Tipped & Service Workers   (Restaurant/Tipped Workers) 
Giving no-strings-attached cash assistance to tipped service workers (servers, delivery drivers etc) that are impacted by COVID-19.
Thousand Currents: Above & Beyond Solidarity Fund  (Climate/Global South) 
Emergency fund for grassroots partners working across the Global South on issues of climate change, food security and sovereignty, economic justice, and many other interconnected issues providing funding for immediate needs of these community first-responders.
