Art Show Community Ekphrastic

OSPI 2021 High School Art Show Community Ekphrastic!
Ekphrasis refers to the literary and rhetorical trope of summoning up—through words—an impression of a visual stimulus, object, or scene. For the 2021 High School Art Show, OSPI wants to celebrate our student artists by sharing community-written ekphrastics about their art.

Here's how it works:
1) Visit the Art Show entries page to view this year's art.
2) Write a short poem (10 lines max, please!) about this year's art.
3) Deadline for poetry submission is Monday, April 19th at noon.
4) We'll select a few to share during the 2021 High School Art Show, May 20, 2021!

Need some inspiration? View some sample ekphrastics.

Want to share ekphrastics with your students, and get them interested in submitting their own? Check out OSPI's sample lesson design.

To get started, check out this year's art on the Art Show judging page, and submit your poem below!
3. Are you a student or an adult?
If you are a student, you may be asked to submit a release form before your submission can be used in the show.
