Dr Debbie Stach GP Registrar of the Year Award nomination form

Purpose
This award celebrates the life of Dr Debbie Stach, who died tragically in a car accident in 2004 soon after completing her GP training with NTGPE. Debbie was an impressive young doctor whose commitment to Indigenous health made her stand out among her peers.

This $10,000 cash prize is awarded annually to a GP registrar who:
  • has an outstanding approach to medicine;
  • has demonstrated a commitment to improving Indigenous health outcomes in the Northern Territory, and;
  • has demonstrated an outstanding approach to professionalism in their work, education and training environments.

GP supervisors, GP registrars and colleagues can submit nominations for an individual they believe is deserving of the award.

COVID-19 update
The status of the NTGPE Awards and Fellowship ceremony due to be held on 25 September 2020 is being assessed on an ongoing basis. We will modify our approach as new decisions affecting the ceremony are made and provide updates to award and scholarship recipients as they become available.


Eligibility criteria
  • nominee must be enrolled in an NTGPE training program;
  • demonstrated consistent professional behaviour and commitment to training in Northern Territory and Indigenous health (in all aspects of education and training);
  • historically, this prize has been awarded to an individual who has demonstrated their commitment to working in the NT after the completion of their GP training with NTGPE.

Payment
$10,000 one-off cash prize.
