Laptop Lending Program Application

Laptop Lending Program & Eligibility

In partnership with EduScape, this program offers eligible Education Fund learners the ability to borrow a Chromebook laptop while participating in an Ed Fund-sponsored program. You may keep the device for the duration of your program.

A Chromebook is a laptop or tablet running the Linux-based Chrome OS as its operating system. The devices are primarily used to perform tasks using the Google Chrome browser, with most applications and data residing in the cloud.

You will also have access to an introductory course on using cloud-based software on your device:

Shifting to Learning and Working in the Cloud (45 Minutes)
In this course, you will explore taking an online course and/or starting to use cloud-based software applications at work. You will acquire an understanding of what it means to work in the cloud; to save files to a virtual space instead of a hard drive or network; and discover the fundamentals of cloud computing.

In order to be eligible for the Laptop Lending Program, you must be actively enrolled in one of the following Education Fund programs that require full or partial online participation:
  • Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences (KPSAHS) — Medical Terminology, Math or Science
  • College Courses — General Education classes and prerequisites for college credit through Coastline College or Portland Community College
