Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® Membership Application for: Transferring or Re-instating to FCBR, Secondary Memberships or New Managing Brokers

Welcome to FCBR!

Thank you for considering membership in the Fort Collins Board of REALTORS®  (FCBR). We are truly pleased to have the opportunity to serve you. So that your transition from applicant to member can be made as quickly as possible, please read the following information carefully. **If you are a new Real Estate Agent Applying, please exit this form and apply under the New Agents Applying for Membership Form.

Dues and Fees
When you join FCBR, you also become a member of the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). A portion of your dues is remitted to those Associations. Once remitted, all dues are non-refundable. FCBR’s fiscal year is October 1st through September 30th. By submitting this application you are agreeing to pay your membership dues upfront. After you join, you will begin receiving annual dues invoices (by email) in September for the following fiscal year (October 1 through September 30). Please contact Member Services if you have any questions about dues or fees.

1. Transferring Fee (anyone transferring or secondary members - this excludes Secondary Managing Brokers): is a one-time fee of $50.00

REQUIRED COURSES: As a condition of membership, all REALTOR® Members must complete the Code of Ethics every 3 years. FCBR will only accept Code of Ethics fulfillment through NAR or FCBR.

FCBR will send most communications, including dues billing, by email. We send weekly course offerings and updates, and our website www.fcbr.org also offers a wealth of information. Transferring and Secondary applicants must include a Letter of Good Standing with their application.

The Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® (FCBR), the “Voice for Real Estate” in Fort Collins since 1922, represents over 1150 members from all real estate specialties including commercial sales, property management, appraisal, and residential sales. FCBR membership also includes over 180 industry partners that provide supporting services including title companies, photographers, and mortgage lenders - Welcome Aboard!

I hereby apply for membership to the Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® and agree to pay dues upon the date of submitting this application, which I understand will be returned to me in the event that I am not accepted for membership. In the event my application is approved, I agree as a condition of membership to complete the NAR® Code of Ethics Training. I further agree that my act of paying dues shall evidence my initial and continuing commitment to abide by the aforementioned Code of Ethics, Constitutions, By‐laws, Rules and Regulations and accept the duty to arbitrate business disputes in accordance with the CODE OF ETHICS AND ARBITRATION MANUAL of the Colorado State Association and the National Association. I also consent and authorize Fort Collins Board of REALTORS®, through its Membership Committee or otherwise, to invite and receive information and comments about me from any member or other person, and I agree that any information and comments furnished to Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® by any member or other person in response to any invitation, shall be conclusively deemed to be privileged and not form the basis of any action against Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® by me for slander, libel and/or defamation of character. No application fees or dues are returnable except if the application is withdrawn prior to approval of the Board of Directors. Applicant acknowledges that if accepted as a member, and he/she resigns from the Board or otherwise causes membership to terminate with an ethics complaint pending, that Board of Directors may condition the right of the resigning member to reapply for membership upon the applicant’s certification that he/she will submit to the pending ethics proceeding and will abide by the decision of the hearing panel. If a member resigns or otherwise causes membership to terminate, the duty to submit to arbitration continues in effect even after membership lapses or is terminated, provided that the dispute arises while the former membership member was a Realtor®. I agree to pay the established fees as long as I remain a member of Fort Collins Board of REALTORS®. As an applicant for membership in the Fort Collins Board of REALTORS®, I certify that the answers given in this application are true and correct, and I agree that failure to provide complete and accurate information, as requested, or any misstatement of fact, may be grounds for revocation of my membership, if granted. I hereby consent to receive fax, e‐mail transmissions and/or texts from Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® to my fax, email addresses and/or cell phone number (texts) as set forth on this application. I understand that Realtor® dues for the following year are payable in full to Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® annually by midnight, October 1st of the current year. Any payments after the October 1st deadline will incur a late fee and/or reinstatement penalty. I further understand, that as a condition of membership, it is my responsibility to maintain my current email, cell phone and US mail contact information with the Fort Collins Board of REALTORS® membership, within 30 days of any changes, so they can communicate with me in a timely manner.

Payment for Membership 
Please allow 24-48 business hours for Membership Manager to contact you for on-boarding and payment. Onboarding appointments are made Monday-Thursdays. 

Dues 
Your individual dues amount may vary depending on date of application and previous REALTOR® membership. Once your application has been reviewed. 
Annual Dues: Once remitted, all dues are NON-REFUNDABLE.

18. Applicants for Managing Broker Realtors® Only (this portion is only for managing broker/owner, appraiser, corporate officer): NAR and FCBR requires every firm to designate in writing one principal REALTOR® member who shall be responsible for all duties and obligations of membership including payment of association dues. Under NAR and FCBR policies, a “principal” includes sole proprietors, partners in partnerships, officers and majority shareholders in corporations, and office and branch managers acting on behalf of a principal(s). NAR and FCBR policies also requires that all principals in a firm hold membership if any one principal does. This policy recognizes that all of the leaders of the firm must be committed to the Code of Ethics, to professionalism, and the objectives of the REALTOR® organization generally, and acknowledges their responsibility and accountability to how their firm is operated. The local association’s dues obligation to NAR is calculated using the Designated REALTOR® (“DR”) dues formula. The DR dues formula computes dues based on the size of a REALTORS® firm, i.e., the number of individuals licensed with the DR, to ensure dues are proportional to the benefits and services received by a firm for the DR’s REALTOR® membership. Under the dues formula, the DR pays a total dues obligation based on number of licensees in the firm, but gets a credit against the amount due for each individual licensee who chooses to individually hold REALTOR® membership. The licensees that choose to hold REALTOR® membership pay their dues individually to the association.

I understand and agree that as Designated Realtor® of the above-named real estate office or appraisal office named herein, I am fully responsible for all dues and fees for services that I request and receive prior to completing the Fort Collins Board of REALTORS required membership application process. I also understand and agree that if accepted for membership, I will pay all dues and fees as are from time to time established and that the total amount of dues for which I will be personally and individually liable and responsible, as Designated Realtor® of the firm or office named herein, shall be in such amount as established annually by the Board of Directors. I further understand that if I apply for participation in the Multiple Listing Service that I, as Designated Realtor®, am an individual member of the Multiple Listing Service and as the participant am responsible for all dues and fees for MLS service.
