In early July, 7-12 tech-savvy student leaders entering grades 9-12 in the 2020-2021 academic year will be selected from public and charter schools in the Syracuse region to be trained as Project Team Leaders for a summer experience to design and make prosthetic hands at the MOST. These high school students will receive training from collaborating partners in skills relating to: leadership, global and community service learning and technology skills. Their role will be to lead other middle and high school participants in teams. They will receive a paid scholarship and their registration fee will be waived. The training will take place on July 22 and 23.
About this project: This project is facilitated by the CNY STEM Hub (CNY STEM) in partnership with AT&T and Partners for Education & Business. Collaborating partners are: Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists, Syracuse Orthotics and Prosthetics, MOST, and CADimensions.
Upon completion of the program, students will meet the recipients of their prosthetic hands in person or virtually.
