Terms and conditions:

Thank you for borrowing a library tablet. These are provided so customers can become familiar with the library’s eResources such as free eBooks (Libby), newspapers and magazines (PressReader), and other online resources.

This is an expensive piece of equipment. Please take care of it as you are responsible for damage or loss while on loan to you. If you notice any damage or the tablet is lost, please email enquiries@wcl.govt.nz or call (04)801-3065 immediately with full details.

Wellington City Libraries will reset the tablet between each customer and remove private information, including location and usage monitoring data which is required to maintain the tablet software efficiently.

Loans are limited to adults for 3 weeks, no renewals. Return it directly to the same collection point for staff to remove it from your library card.  Do not return it to the after-hours slot or another branch.

This device may not be used to access or conduct illegal activities under the Film, Videos and Publications Act 1993, or used to engage in anti-social behaviour such as bullying people or conducting an illegal business.

The tablet is not restricted to Wellington City Libraries’ eResources. Therefore the Library is not responsible for any other content you access from the tablet.

If you booked a tablet and did not show up on the agreed time and day, it will be held for you for a 24 hour period. If you have contacted us, you will be given 48 hours in total. After this time, your tablet will be given to other customers on the waiting list .

These terms and conditions are in addition to standard library membership conditions e.g. I undertake to return all items borrowed from the library by the due date… and to pay all rental fees, overdue charges, damages and replacement charges that are incurred.
