About the Application Review Process for Fulbright Teacher Exchanges

Should you be selected as an application reviewer, you will have the opportunity to participate in the nomination and selection process for these prestigious Fulbright programs while learning more about the work that educators are doing around the globe. Ideal application reviewers are professionals with diverse professional and personal backgrounds and who have leadership experience in primary and/or secondary education settings. Additional preferred qualities of application reviewers include current or previous work in international education or educationally focused international development, teacher professional development, pre-service teacher education, expertise in specific countries and/or regions, and/or international exchange programs.

Fulbright Teacher Exchanges are open, fair, and transparent competitions. Application reviewers are responsible for evaluating program applicants (see programs above) based on pre-established guidelines and scoring rubrics provided by IREX and approved by ECA. Application reviewers will read, evaluate, and score between 20 to 40 applications (depending on the program) via IREX’s online application system in monthlong periods between March and August 2024 (the exact timing will vary by program). Following the application review period, some reviewers may be asked to take part in a ~2-hour live virtual nomination panel. Each application reviewer will receive a $250 honorarium after successfully completing their application review responsibilities. IREX will provide further details on the application reviewer process to those who are selected.

The deadline to apply to serve as an application reviewer for the Fulbright Teacher Exchanges is March 1, 2024, at 11:59 PM EST.
